FAQ’s for STILLPOINT TEA

1. What is StillPoint Tea, anyway.

A. It’s an herbal tea that corresponds with Rene Caisse’s four herb Essiac Tea with the addition of Red Clover, an herb she included in her eight herb formula.

2. Why don’t you provide the eight herb formula tea?

A. We believe the four herb formula is closer to the one given Ms. Caisse by the Ojibwa medicine man. StillPoint Tea has the principle herbs in it plus one important one from the 8-herb formula, Red Clover. The eight herb formula contains kelp, for instance, which we don’t think the Ojibwa’s had full access to. We could be wrong, but that’s our assumption. And kelp from the sea isn’t as pure and free from contaminants as it once was.

3. Is the tea safe?

A. Of course. The dry organic herbs come from a highly reputable organic herb distributor and are brewed in stainless steel vats nearby.

4. What’s that popping or fizzing sound we sometimes hear when we open a bottle?

A. It's the breaking of a vacuum. The brew is poured into the bottles while still hot. And while still hot, the tops are put on and sealed. Water, which the tea is made in, expands slightly when heated. As the hot liquid cools, it shrinks, resulting in a slight vacuum inside the bottle. The sound you hear when opening is the pressure equalizing.

5. Why do you put citric acid into the mix. Did Rene Caisse do that?

A. We believe Ms. Caisse brewed her tea frequently with it being consumed shortly after preparation. We also read that originally she may have injected it directly into the blood stream of her clients. (Don't try that at home. She gave up on that process eventually.) Whatever, we understand she did not bottle it with the intent of keeping it for long storage periods. Therefore, citric acid or any other pH stabilizer wasn’t part of her mix. Besides balancing the pH of the mixture, the citric acid ensures that no harmful micro-organisms, such as botulism which tends to thrive in an alkaline environment, will survive even after it’s been boiled. However, once you open the bottle, treat it like any other plant food. Be sure to keep it sealed and refrigerated. After several weeks or so, throw away any open containers that aren’t fully consumed.

6. Some people use alcohol for the same reason. Why don’t you?

A. You gotta be kidding!

7. How old is the tea I receive?

A. Not more than one year and usually less. It could keep a lot longer at room temperature and in a dark place. Before we throw any residual older stock out, we convert it to our own personal use. We brew smaller amounts and brew more often to ensure a more rapid turnover of our stock.

8. Why don’t you use plastic bottles? They’re lighter, cheaper, not as subject to breakage, and less costly to ship.

A. Those are, indeed, great advantages if safety is not a consideration. We know that dark amber glass bottles are safest for storing StillPoint Tea. We don’t know what sort of chemicals may leach into the tea from anything that’s made of plastic. It does happen with other liquids, and we don’t want to take the chance with ours. We might drink our daily servings out of a hard plastic cup with ounces marked on it, but the tea isn’t in that container for more than a few seconds while we add distilled water and before chugging it down in one or two swallows.

9. You offer free shipping on the Miracle II products if the purchase amount is over a certain amount. Why not the same for StillPoint Tea?

A. It has to do with something called mark-up. There isn't that much of a mark-up over our costs, and we've tried to peg our prices to be amongst the most reasonable on the Internet. We compensate the buyer, however, if s/he orders in case lots by discounting a substantial amount off the price -- $4.00 a bottle or nearly 30% which translates to nearly $50 for the full case.

10. How long will a case of StillPoint Tea last?

A. Assuming a client takes one ounce of tea twice a day, the first upon rising and the second before retiring, you can figure an answer by multiplying 12 bottles by 16.8 ounces and dividing by two for twice a day. Our calculator shows us almost 101 days, or a week past three months. But to err on the conservative side, figure three full months. In other words, four cases will supply a twice-a-day user with what s/he needs for a year. Of course, taking the tea three times a day means a case will last two months and six cases will fulfill a year's supply.

11. Does StillPoint (Essiac) Tea really cure cancer?

A. That's something neither we nor anyone else can say legally or for any other reason. The simple fact is, we don't know. Nor does anyone else know. (see "Medical Claims - NOT!" page.) But we will say that different bodies respond differently to substances introduced into those bodies. What works for the goose doesn't necessarily work for the gander. We do have one story to tell. We sell our product to the local health food stores. One store had a customer from Tennessee stop by. She had throat cancer, and tried some of our Tea. She called back soon after and ordered two cases. We provided the cases, but the store then had trouble reaching her to arrange delivery. Several weeks went by before contact was finally made during which the customer told the store she wouldn't be needing those cases because (she said) her throat cancer was gone. And she credits the tea. But a word of caution. Can she or anyone else prove it was the tea? Of course not. Perhaps it was something else she was doing or taking or not taking. Or maybe the cancer decided to go into remission by itself. No one can say with any degree of certainty. But that customer is positive it was the tea in spite of there being not one iota of proof that such is a correct analysis. (But she should have gotten the cases anyway.)

This writer began taking the tea nearly a year ago as part of his then-six-year battle against prostate cancer. Has it cured the cancer? Who knows? I'm doing other things, too, such as ingesting Neutralizer from the Miracle II product line. The only thing I can say for sure is that the time between my chemotherapy (hormone suppression) shots is routinely longer than the normal spacing (3 months) of the "Pulse Therapy" program my urologist has me on. We've skipped several in the past few years including before I began taking the tea. I credit the Neutralizer with that. But was it the Neutralizer? Who knows? I really don't. However, I changed the regimen and added StillPoint Tea to my diet -- and my PSA went down last time when it should have gone up because of having deliberately skipped a shot the time before. The other alternative things I'm doing undoubtedly help, too, so I cannot say with absolute irrefutable certainty that it's the tea, alone (or even at all), that has been effectively negating my cancer. But I can say that I believe it is, especially in combination with the Neutralizer, the Sound Therapy, and the other things that I do periodically. But I do not offer this as any proof that the tea affects my cancer in any way . . . only my personal, biased belief that it does.

My experience with the tea is one of the reasons we chose to get into this business.
